There was just over 900 head of cattle yarded, consisting mainly of yearlings and cows. The quality of the young cattle was mixed with several runs of well-bred cattle available for feeders and re-stockers. There was increased numbers of light yearlings offered, along with a fair number of medium weights and a fairly limited supply of heavy cattle.
Competition was very strong from re-stockers and back grounders for the light end of the yearlings, while feeder cattle were also in strong demand. Re-stocker vealer steers sold to a top of 369c, while re-stocker yearling steers topped at 367c/kg to be 20c/kg dearer and more in places. Medium weight feeder steers were up by 10c/kg to average around 332c/kg. Trade yearling heifers sold to a top of 315c/kg and feeder heifers topped at 319c/kg.
In the export section there was insufficient numbers of grown steers for a quote, however heifers sold to a top of 296c/kg. Cows were firm to 6c/kg dearer with medium weights averaging around 221c/kg and heavy cows sold to a top of 239c/kg.Local results: J & J Panuccio light bull calves 278.2c/kg 275kg $765**** M Spence hfr vealers 300c/kg 235kg $705.
